Massachusetts-based All Pigs Must Die this week declares the details of their imminently destructive second LP pending release this Summer via Southern Lord.

While holding true to what the band is known for, on the new album APMD ...

Southern Lord Recordings welcomes young Florida hardcore act Centuries to the label’s ever-morphing extreme roster.
Busting out with an emotive punk-influenced style of hardcore with elements of explosive metalcore and morose d-beat persuasions, Centuries should appeal to fans of comparable Southern Lord acts like Baptists, Heartless and Nails, but their overall sound more akin to traditional modern hardcore acts than most any other on the label. Amidst releasing several demo and indie recordings, the band has toured stateside alongside Old Wounds, Pray For Teeth, Homestretch and more, and toured Europe in late 2012 with Poland’s Drip Of ...

Italy’s most caustic metal/hardcore outfit The Secret has unleashed an official video for their nihilistic cry against humanity, "Seven Billion Graves." Directed by Shazzula Nebula, the video was released via Scion AV, and was posted first at Invisible Oranges, who sums it up quite well, stating: "There’s no story, no band members, and indeed, no humans present. Cameras roam the remains of dead civilizations or skitter over broken terrain. All is rendered in greys and blacks. It’s a grim vision, and a fair aesthetic match for The Secret’s stark metalcore. No rounded ...

Nails, tyrants of the American underground, have triumphantly completed their second full-length Abandon All Life, due out Spring 2013 on Southern Lord.
Recorded at Godcity with Kurt Ballou (Converge) and mastered by Brad Boatright (From Ashes Rise), these ten tracks of barbaric rage have no resemblance to the laughable, retro party metal that passes as extreme music in today's world. Instead, Nails carpet bombs the listener with their horrifying brand of death/grind/hardcore chaos; flawlessly blending shades of Suffocation, early Nasum, and Celtic Frost with their own sadistic aggression. With profound hatred, the howling war cry of Abandon All Life shows Nails as a band without equal ...
