Photos: Mastodon, Gojira, Kvelertak Live at Electric Factory
BTS’s Summer Of Band Photos Series continues with metal juggernauts Mastodon, Gojira, and Kvelertak, as the trio decimated Philly’s Electric Factory venue with unrelenting tidal waves of crushing riffs for an ecstatic packed house.
Mastodon continues to support its sixth studio full-length, Once More ‘Round the Sun, released earlier this year on Reprise Records. The release has taken the band to new heights, punctuated by last week’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live as the band showcased song, “The Motherload”. For those that didn’t get a chance to catch this last leg of live shows, you’ll be happy to know Mastodon has just announced October and November dates, again with Gojira and Kvelertak.
France’s Gojira continue to support L’Enfant Sauvage, released in 2012 on Roadrunner Records, which has seen almost universal praise from musicians and critics alike. The band recently released a new live album as well, Les Enfants Sauvages, which apart from the 13 live cuts offered, is accompanied by a hardback photo-book. Rounding out the bill was Norway’s energetic six piece rock machine, Kverlertak who set the crowd into a frenzy with a three guitar assault not to be reckoned with. Kvelertak continues to support their latest length, the Kurt Ballou produced Meir, released via Sony Music Scandinavia in Scandinavia, Roadrunner Records in the rest of the world, and by Indie Recordings on vinyl. Definitely a band to keep an eye on in 2014.
