Sage Francis at Philly’s Union Transfer
Spoken word poet and hip hop performance artist, Sage Francis rolled through Philly’s Union Transfer venue earlier this year as The Providence, Rhode Island native and founder of Strange Famous Records wraps up an exciting 2014.
Copper Gone, a fifth studio album by Francis has seen a predominantly good reception after a four year hiatus following 2010’s Li(f)e full-length. Hiphopdx hailed the record with a favorable review stating, “With a blatant honesty, he lays them bare for listeners to visualize his suffering. It’s as if he’s drowning, doesn’t want to be saved, and wants everyone to see him slowly recede underwater as a warning. And if that’s the case, the truth is that listeners should be thankful that Sage is willing to take them along on such a stirringly dark, emotional roller coaster of an album.” Sage Francis will embark select tour dates in December including stops in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korean, and West Coast US.
Rapper, spoken word activist, and Francis label-mate, B.Dolan rounded out this billing.
