Today we have a fresh cut from Cetus, a long-standing Pennsylvania act with a penchant for 90s-era metalcore mixed with modern day sludge. Enjoy an exclusive debut of new song ‘Excelsior’, taken from the band’s forthcoming effort The Remnant Mass, due out on Dullest Records later this Summer.
Harnessing a sound that draws noted influence from a wide swath of metal mainstays ranging from Botch to Eyehategod, this latest effort stands somewhere in the murky territory of dare we say ‘post-metalcore’ bands such as Narrows. The music draws on a deep, brooding energy, combined with a signature dissonance, and a dry but crisp attack and production. If this description made sense to you, then chances are this next jam will be one of your favorites of 2015.
Without further ado..Enjoy ‘Excelsior!’
