Rage Against The Machine To Play AZ Immigration Law Protest
Last week Rage Against The Machine announced they will be playing the Hollywood Palladium Friday as a benefit show with all proceeds going to Arizona organizations fighting the pending Arizona law SB 1070. This Friday’s concert is the only scheduled North American appearance by the band and is the first time Rage Against The Machine have played Los Angeles in 10 years. Needless to say, the show sold out in minutes and singer/front-man Zach De La Rocha expects the event to raise over $300,000 to fight the pending law. Conor Oberst and The Mystic Valley Band will also perform tomorrow.
SoundStrike participant and Rage vocalist Zack de la Rocha said, “SB 1070 if enacted would legalize racial profiling in Arizona. This law runs counter to music’s essential purpose, which is to unite people and not divide them. We want to thank the artists of conscious that have joined the Soundstrike throughout the world who use their role as artists to stand for civil and human rights.”
SoundStrike has been posting bands to join to Boycott:
