Photos: AFI & Nothing live at Union Transfer
AFI and Nothing recently ripped through Philadelphia’s Union Transfer venue for an exuberant audience with our very own Dante Torrieri on hand to capture and deliver another stellar set of photos for your viewing pleasure featured below the fold.
AFI continue to support a brand new self-titled, tenth studio album released in January via Concord Music Group. The album, a.k.a. ‘The Blood Album‘ cleverly included four limited vinyl variants, each matching the four human blood types A, O, B, and AB.
AFI recorded The Blood Album at L.A.’s Megawatt Studios seeing guitarist Jade Puget co-produce alongside producer Matt Hyde (Deftones, Slipknot). The album marks the latest in a 26-year career seeing A.V. Club comment “although AFI (The Blood Album) doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it doesn’t need to: The record illustrates that the members of AFI are deeply committed to forward motion, and remain as fired up now as they were 25 years ago.”
Philadelphia shoegaze/alternative rock quartet Nothing continue to support its critically acclaimed new album Tired of Tomorrow released via Relapse Records in 2016. The album was recorded by producer Will Yip (Circa Survive, Code Orange, Lauryn Hill) at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA and charted on numerous Billboard charts with PopMatters commenting “With a lean run time of about 45 minutes, Tired of Tomorrow is a welcome and long-awaited addition to Nothing’s catalog. It can be a rough emotional ride, but the fact that the band can show its battle scars with such a great selection of songs should give everyone hope for the future.”
