This Is Hardcore Fest 2012 Day 1 Bands in Photos

Earth Crisis - This Is Hardcore Fest 2012

On August 9th, 2012, Philadelphia, PA became the epicenter of hardcore music. Hosted by Joe “Hardcore” McKay and his Philly Hardcore Shows booking group, the opening ceremonies featured a dense cast of both promising newcomers and genre mainstays.

Notably, This Is Hardcore Fest 2012 kicked off a four day rundown of hardcore bands from across the spectrum at new venue, the Union Transfer for the very first time. Last weekend we brought you play-by-play candid shots of the crowd and behind the scenes looks of This Is Hardcore Fest 2012. While most of the Blow The Scene staff was busy hobnobbing with the crowd the bands, photographer Anne Spina was stationed onstage gathering a massive collection of shots of the all the performers.

Thursday’s cast ran as follows:

The Storm
Build & Destroy
Lifeless
Naysayer
Minset
Maximum Penalty
Ringworm
Earth Crisis
Terror

The evening was filled with great performances and the Union Transfer staff had a solid handle on how to host a hardcore bill. Food trucks supplied welcomed munchies for vegans and carnivores alike, as rich gathering of hardcore fans from around the world were treated to an non-stop barrage of exciting hardcore. We could easily write a thesis on all of the memorable moments and larger-than-life performances and personalities. But we won’t. Instead, we offer you an unabashed photo rundown of the bands as it happened.

We’ll be launching a new gallery every day through Tuesday, so stay tuned for TIH Day 2 Bands tomorrow!
