Philly’s Trocadero Theater played host to the 2014 edition of the Summer Slaughter Tour featuring The Faceless, Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus, Thy Art Is Murder, Goatwhore, Within Ruins, Origin, Fallujah, Decrepit Birth, and Bore Worm as BTS’s Dante Torrieri was on hand to capture the events in photos for our viewing pleasure.
It’s been a interesting month for co-headliners and Sumerian recording artists, The Faceless who suddenly parted ways with bassist Evan Brewer and drummer Alex Rüdinger at the tale end of October. As the two now pursue solo careers, the band stated, “The Faceless fully intend to play on the Protest The Hero tour with The Contortionist. We have already been jamming with some people that I think Faceless fans will be truly excited to hear are becoming involved in the group.” For a band that’s gone through 15 members since its inception in the early 2000s, we can safely assume they will march on. The Faceless continue to support, Autotheism, their third full-length album that topped at #50 on Billboard Top 200.
After performing at this year’s Summer Slaughter Tour, co-headliners Dying Fetus headed over seas for a current headlining tour across Europe. Joining them on the road are Goatwhore, Malevolence and Fallujah. Dying Fetus released their latest album Reign Supreme in 2012 on Relapse Records before re-signing to the label in 2013 as new efforts are reportedly in the works.
Morbid Angel are currently in the midst of their special European tour. The death metal outfit is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their milestone release Covenant by performing the complete album live. The brutalisers from Florida kicked off their long road-trip in Rennes (FR) on November 8th and will continue to blast stages all over Europe until their final show in Oslo (NO) at the Vulkan Arena on December 20th. The latest Morbid Angel album llud Divinum Insanus is available through Season of Mist in various formats.
