Swedish prog metallers, Opeth recently stormed Philly’s Electric Factory venue along with In Flames and Red Fang rounding out the bill.
This co-headlining tour celebrated Opeth’s much awaited new record Pale Communion, which was released in August of 2014 via Roadrunner Records. The album was produced by the band’s very own Mikael Åkerfeldt and mixed by longtime collaborator and Porcupine Tree frontman/guitarist Steven Wilson. The album has received numerous year-end nods including Pale Communion voted #1 album of 2014 by Prog Mag Critics.
Opeth are set to celebrate their landmark 25th Anniversary as a band with a very special event at the legendary London Palladium on 18th October 2015. The unique show, dubbed An Evening with OPETH will feature two sets from the progressive Swedes, including 2005’s much-lauded Ghost Reveries album in its entirety (which in turn is celebrating its 10th anniversary), plus a second set of classics from their 25-year career.
Fresh off their North American tour with Opeth and In Flames, Portland, OR hard rockers Red Fang have announced a headlining tour in Australia/New Zealand this May. The tour comes on the heels of the band’s headlining appearances at the renowned Desertfest along with numerous European and Russian tour dates. Red Fang have also recently confirmed various European festival appearances this summer including Hellfest, Forta Rock, Copenhell, Mighty Sounds Festival and many others.
Red Fang recently premiered their new animated video for “Crows In Swine,” the third single off their critically acclaimed third album Whales and Leeches. The clip which was animated and directed by Adam Avilla can be viewed on YouTube. Released on Relapse Records, Red Fang’s current album Whales and Leeches debuted at #66 on the Billboard Album Chart, marking the group’s highest sales week and first debut in the Top 200.
In Flames‘ latest album, “Siren Charms”, sold an impressive 9,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 26 on The Billboard 200 chart last September. The album was recorded at Hansa Tonstudios (David Bowie, Depeche Mode, U2) in Berlin, Germany. Blabbermouth commented on the album stating, “IN FLAMES, like it or not, is a new beast. Forget “Whoracle”. Forget “The Jester Race”. Even forget “Come Clarity”. Their latest album “Siren Charms” is an overhauled and frankly softened version of the band bearing pop-friendly ear candy for those open to it.”
