Photos: Mastodon & Dillinger Escape Plan in Philly
Metal titans Mastodon and The Dillinger Escape Plan once again linked up for a round of live dates as Blow The Scene‘s Dante Torrieri caught up with the tour at Philadelphia’s Electric Factory this past Friday to deliver a stunning set of exclusive photos.
Apart from a string of recent festival and tour date announcements, the long awaited and very limited picture disc of Mastodon‘s non-album track “White Walker” is available online and at local record stores. The artwork, designed by Welsh illustrator Richey Beckett, is a still from the Games of Thrones episode in which Mastodon appeared as murdered “wildlings” who are brought back to life by White Walkers.
Dillinger Escape Plan have a new album in the works to follow 2013’s highly successful, One Of Us Is The Killer full-length via Sumerian Recordings. It was recently reported the band has linked up Brooklyn string quartet Seven)Suns for some additional layers of sonic goodness to add to what already promises to be another unrelenting avalanche of experimental metal. It was also revealed that producer/engineer Kurt Ballou is lending his hand to the project in a still undefined capacity.
Two bands we’ll be keeping a close eye on as 2016 progresses. Without further ado..
