Swedish black metal wrecking crew, Watain recently ripped through Philly’s Union Transfer venue with T.O.M.B. and Revenge in tow. Blow the Scene‘s Dante Torrieri was on hand to deliver another stunning set of photos for our viewing pleasure below the fold.
Watain are currently supporting a 2013 effort on Season Of Mist entitled, The Wild Hunt as well as a new live LP, Tonight We Raise Our Cups and Toast in Angels Blood: A Tribute to Bathory that was released on Sound Pollution in February of this year.
T.O.M.B., which is the acronym created from “Total Occultic Mechanical Blasphemy,” supplied the summation of horrific audiotorture they are known for. Crucial Blast Records recently announced the upcoming Springtime release of Pennhurst / Xesse, an album featuring two rare out-of-print recordings from obscure black/industrial metal collective, T.O.M.B..
The evening was rounded out by Canada’s black metal extremists, Revenge. Formed in 2000 by J. Read (Blood Revolt, ex-Conqueror), Revenge have found a home on Season Of Mist as of 2013 and have toured throughout the World spreading their blend of Canadian black metal to the masses. We’ve included listening samples and links for purchase and further investigation below of all of the guilty parties.
