Philly has a definite love for its punk brothers and sisters 300 miles across the state in Pittsburgh evidenced as the Steel City‘s Unstitched recently ripped through the Millcreek Tavern venue with local decimators in Dopestroke. The evening also saw Philly locals Vegan Legions and Neon Stains rounding out the bill.
Unstitched bring forth a relentless slaying of brutal d-beat infested tracks reminiscent of the mighty Martyrdöd and Wolfbrigade across the Atlantic. The band is currently supporting a 2013 demo that can streamed below the fold. Fans of the genre will find a lot to love here with an unrelenting bludgeoning of crust. Definitely a band to keep an eye on in 2014.
We arrived at the show later than expected and missed the first acts of the night being Vegan Legions and Neon Stains, but advise you scope their tunes in the provided links. We did catch a cathartic set by Philly’s Dopestroke who bring the nihilistic hardcore punk rock on the proper. With a prevailing fuck you attitude, no hope, no fear kinda-of lyrical base, the band is definite favorite amongst Philly’s underground punk community. We’ve provided music streams below with links for purchase and further investigation.
