Day 2 of This Is Hardcore Fest 2015 at Philly’s Electric Factory venue featured an incredible billing with American Nightmare, Suicide File, Nails, Defeater, Cruel Hand, True Love, Build + Destroy, The Geeks, and Malice at the Palace hitting the stage.
American Nightmare had quite a run in 2015 with a series of hand-picked reunion bills including TIH, Fun Fun Fun Fest and more punctuating a legacy as one of the most important and influential hardcore bands in recent history. Deathwish Inc. has issued a digital version of American Nightmare “Reunion Documentary” that is currently available now for only 5 bills. The Suicide File put in a heartfelt performance that completed several reunion shows the band has engaged in over the last few years. For the uninitiated- SF put in a short but highly impactful run in the early 2000s with a number of releases on such greats at Deathwish Inc. and Indecision Records. Oxnard, CA’s Nails have become a staple at TIH seeing what are arguably the most insane and brutal pits the world of hardcore metal has to offer. And why not? What else is there to do besides punch and kick anyone in arm’s length when those crushing tunes unleash. Nails head back to GodCity with producer Kurt Ballou later this month to record a 3rd overall full-length and first for Nuclear Blast Records, due out in 2016.
