Friday the 13th has gotten a bad wrap. Serial killers, crippling accidents, and bad luck are just a few of the ills attributed to this unfortunate day that sneaks up on us a few times a year. On this latest Friday the 13th, Philly Hardcore Shows‘ Joe Hardcore put together a bill that couldn’t have been further from the stigma that plagues this ominous day. Long Islands’ Incendiary wasted no time igniting the crowd with their trademark mix of pummeling hardcore assaults. Cleveland’s Masakari hit the floor next, proceeding to melt faces with their own blend of emotional, grind-infused hardcore–they even plugged one for our four-legged friends, pit bulls, who are still being discriminated against with breed specific laws (nice touch!). Belgium’s Rise and Fall were quick to dim the lights and blast into their emotional hardcore set. They showcased several new tunes recently recorded with Kurt Ballou at God City Studios for a forthcoming LP on Deathwishinc. Chicago’s hardcore titans, The Killer, stepped up with a vengeance, capturing the full attention of concertgoers and bands alike. Their blend of old-school metallic hardcore draws on a plethora of niche influences, creating a sonic assault that was quite refreshing and powered forward by their awesomely heavy-handed drummer. Last and certainty not least, PA’s own Wisdom in Chains drew the masses to the front and ran through a number of their fan and friend favorites. Tons of fun gang vocals, pile-ons, and all that good shit you love about Philly’s unflinching hardcore scene. Without further ado, here is the show in pictures by Blow The Scene’s James Seibert. Enjoy!
