BlowTheScene.com has the pleasure of linking up with one of the premiere up-and-coming DIY festivals of 2017, as the community-based 1Fest begins to to take shape across the USA seeing confirmations from highly sought after bands and up-and-comers including Siege, Wormrot, Shitstorm, Cloud Rat, Sick/Tired, Vermin Womb, Die Choking, Unholy Grave, Backslider, Despise You, Escuela, Concussive, and more. Staying true to DIY form, 1Fest sees a series of shows tackle one region at time in conjunction with local DIY promoters focusing on grindcore, punk, and various forms of metal. Each region is treated to a unique billing, with no two regions looking alike. We recently caught up with a 1Fest founder, and current director of the festival’s overarching umbrella, School’s Out Productions– Jesse Fuentes who commented saying,
“1FEST is the comprehensive effort of a group of D.I.Y. promoters known as School’s Out Productions, creating a national music festival that centers on grindcore, powerviolence, metal, hardcore, and extreme music genres. 1FEST began in Dallas, TX three years ago as a one-day music festival to bring together these genres to the growing local scene. Since its humble induction, 1FEST and its founders have been working to further develop its original form and bring the music nationwide.”
