This Is Hardcore 2013 drew to a close with GWAR letting loose a barrage of intergalactic slime spewing from all conceivable trajectories as severed heads, cannons, and even bloody asses soaked the brave. This following a healthy beating from headliners Paint It Black, Suicide File, Negative Approach, Trapped Under Ice, and Sick Of It All following a full day of eclectic hardcore.
For those that braved the full four days of This Is Hardcore Fest 2013, it’s safe to say we shared in a full gambit of emotions. Whether it was performing, pitting, filming, working, organizing, combating, editing, volunteering, troubleshooting, bleeding, laughing, yelling… The prevailing mood is one of enthusiasm and fresh spirit for a niche of music that has become a way of life for so many. This Is Hardcore Fest serves as a full dose of the culture as a whole from an authentic group of people who live this every single day. Hardcore isn’t perfect, but like us, continues to evolve bringing new meaning along with new music.
After four days of continuos coverage that’s about as much eloquence as we’ll attempt to muster, we’ll close these candids out as we brought you in..
NOTE: Next year, TIH will be July 24-27, 2014. Save the dates.
Blow The Scene‘s Dante Torrieri and Joshua Cohen held down the candid and crowd while Anne Spina gathered her massive collection of band shots from the stage. Our official band galleries will be posted separately in the coming days as we did in 2012.
