Shipping News have teamed up with Interstates to drop remix of “Another Body, Another State” crafted from the original, “Nine Bodies, Nine States” which was originally released by Shipping News in 2001.
From Shipping News:
Louisville is a very family oriented town. Free milk is given on every corner and the sounds of aphids sing the citizens to sleep. The murky Ohio twists in the dusky light. As you may have heard … most of the bands here are pretty friendly with each other. So, when our pals Interstates suggested remixing our song “Nine Bodies, Nine States” (from our second album released in 2001) we said “awesome,” and embraced them warmly.
The new version of the song was created by Alex O’Nan in Louisville, Ky (2010-11) and we’re super excited to share it with you now. While it has been drastically altered – we feel it captures the DNA of the original (using some very special forensics equipment and that spray stuff, like the purple glowing stuff). Now it’s possibly brighter, more energetic, more hopeful? Or is it just a fragile human mask that doesn’t betray the reptilian thoughts oozing under the surface? A shadow moves on the hedge and lane. Songbirds grow silent as darkness falls.
