Interviews with Municipal Waste, COC, 3 Inches of Blood, Black Tusk

Municipal Waste band live at Union Transfer in Philadelphia

We recently caught up with the Municipal Waste, 3 Inches of Blood, Black Tusk US Tour at Philly’s Union Transfer venue where special guests Corrosion of Conformity also broke a off feature performance. We sat down with all of the guilty parties for video interviews that can be viewed in the YouTube players below. We also captured massive photo galleries of all four performances, so be sure to scope those as well.

All of the bands are supporting current releases, starting with headliners Municipal Waste, who just dropped their debut LP on Nuclear Blast Records in April, entitled The Fatal Feast.

The Fatal Feast mark’s the 5th full-length release since the band’s formation in 2000 and continues Municipal Waste‘s legacy as the leaders of America’s current thrash revival. One of our favorite indie labels, Tankcrimes, is also currently offering a Municipal Waste / Toxic Holocaust split record, entitled Toxic Waste, with two unreleased tracks from both bands. Municipal Waste have been busy thrashers, apart from the aforementioned, the band has just released a third music video from the The Fatal Feast LP, for song, “You’re Cut Off.” Singer Tony Foresta and bassist Landphil go in-depth on the making of this video, the making of The Fatal Feast, and much more in the interview below.

Municipal Waste band live at Union Transfer in PhiladelphiaMunicipal Waste‘s performance was everything you would expect- Boogie board crowd surfing, circle pits, gang chants, beer splatters, razor sharp riffs, smoking drumming, and infectious hardcore vocals all on point. Municipal Waste‘s members are clearly at the top of their game and have no trouble inciting riot-esque crowd responses even in the larger venues they now frequent. A+ performance from these purveyors of thrastatic speed metal.

Co-headliners, Corrosion Of Conformity also put in one for the books with a massive set that spanned the band’s 30-year career. COC are also supporting a new self-titled LP on Candlelight Records which celebrates the return of the band’s Animosity-era line-up, going all the way back to 1985 featuring Woody Weatherman on guitar and vocals, Mike Dean on bass and vocals, and Reed Mullin returning on drums. We caught up with Reed Mullin for a massive video interview below where he touches on everything from promoting shows in Raleigh in the early 80s to signing Dave Grohl‘s pre-Nirvana band Drain Bamage to his label, and brings us all the way up to speed on the band’s latest LP. A do not miss interview chock full of awesome music history.

3 Inches of Blood brought their patented heavy metal vibes and had no trouble getting the crowd involved as they hit listeners with a barrage of classic and new material from the band’s latest LP on Century Media Records, Long Live Heavy Metal. With crushing metal riffs on top of immaculate drumming, it’s hard not to headbang along with this Canadian quintet. Guitarist Shane Clark was kind enough to sit down with us for an in-depth interview touching on the band’s history and bringing us all the way up to speed on the making of Long Live Heavy Metal.

Southern sludge metal practitioners, Black Tusk, set the evening in motion with a powerful set that is uncanny of an opening act. Black Tusk are also supporting a new release on the mighty Relapse Records entitled,Set The Dial, that continues the band’s legacy as one of the front-runners of the southern sludge metal game. Blending elements of rock, punk, and sludge with plenty of southern attitude, it’s not a surprise the band brought a healthy following of fans and won over many more. Guitarist and vocalist Andrew Fidler was kind enough to sit for interview where he discusses the tour, the making of Set The Dial, and the pros and cons to being a 3 piece band!

We know you are here for the exclusive interviews and pictures, so without further ado…
