Comeback Kid‘s Symptoms and Cures Tour plowed through Philadelphia’s legendary First Unitarian Church venue last week with Foundation, Such Gold, Living with Lions, and special guest Rock Bottom. This stellar tour package kicked off on March 18th in San Antonio, TX, and will make it’s way around the country with a final performance in Madison, WI, on April 21st.
It’s hard to believe Comeback Kid have been pummeling audiences with their infectious blend of melodic hardcore for over a decade, as the band continues to cruise in top-notch form. We recently caught up with lead guitarist and founding member, Jeremy Hiebert, who was kind enough to give Blow The Scene readers the skinny on the band’s current US tour, writing processes behind the band’s latest LP on Victory Records Symptoms + Cures, politics and life in Canada, and insight in to the band’s formula for success in the often tumultuous world of hardcore music in a recent interview.
Lead support for this tour and Bridge Nine Records recording artists, Atlanta’s Foundation, hit the stage with a fury Philly hardcore fans have come to expect from this touring juggernaut. The straightedge stalwarts have been honing their live attack on the road with bands such as Bane and Have Heart and proved to be a fitting choice as lead support for the Symptoms and Cures Tour.
Razor and Tie Recording artists Such Gold held up the posi, poppier end of the musical spectrum on this tour package. Such Gold has been making waves, as they recently made Alternative Press‘s “100 Bands You Need To Know” 2012 compilation, were featured on several SXSW showcase performances, and will head to Europe in May for additional tour dates.
Vancouver’s Living With Lions are coming off of a whirlwind year in 2011 with the release of their latest full-length Holy Shit, which found it’s way to the streets via Black Box Recordings last May. Known for their dynamics and anthem-esque melodies, Living with Lions proved to be a welcomed addition to this tour package. Local support was rounded out by Harvcore Records‘ own Rock Bottom, who made the trek down from Doylestown and Brooklyn to the delight of Philly’s ruckus hardcore fans.
We have a very special, double-feature show gallery by two of our extremely talented photographers, Dante Torrieri of Useless Rebel Imaging, and Anne Spina of Anne Spina Photography. Enjoy this gargantuan photo feature from the perspective of two of Philadelphia’s premiere photographers.
