On Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, Kid Dynamite, No Friends, and Spraynard ripped The First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia a new one, with three blistering performances that local concertgoers won’t soon forget. The show was a benefit for PhillyFreeSchool.org, so be sure to peep their website for more info. These are three bands that truly need no introduction, but we’ll do so anyway for you latecomers. Before disbanding in 2005, Jade Tree recording artists Kid Dynamite released 2 highly acclaimed full-length LPs, an EP, and various appearances on compilation records. Kid Dynamite features former members of highly influential New Jersey melodic hardcore outfit Lifetime, and went on to join/form a number of acts including None More Black, Armalite, Paint It Black, Higher Giant, and The Loved Ones. If you don’t know this band, consider this your late pass. The reunion show of sorts was rounded out by No Friends, featuring members of Municipal Waste and New Mexican Disaster Squad, and West Chester’s own pop punk heroes, Spraynard.
