Miami’s favorite rocking sons, Torche, ripped through Johnny Brenda’s in Philly’s Northern Liberties neighborhood on Monday for evening of drunken debauchery and gnarly tunes where it seemed more like a Friday night blowout then the beginning of the work week.
Torche is currently touring in support of their recent split 12″ with tour-mates Part Chimp, who had the limited edition release in hand and fresh off the press. Torche’s contribution to the split features three Guided By Voices covers and the album cover features artwork by the world-renowned sci-fi illustrator Trevor Claxton.
This split serves as a tasty appetizer for their forthcoming album that is currently being tracked at Pinecrust Studios in Torche’s hometown before heading over to renowned engineer Kurt Ballou (Converge, Trap Them, Disfear) and God City Studios for mixing. Local rock quartet, Restorations rounded out the bill as fans and bands alike got their rage on in a big way. If you missed it, we recenlty ran a full-feature interview with Restorations.
The magnificently talented Dante Torrieri of Useless Rebel Imaging was on hand for another stellar photo gallery.
