Following the impending release of their latest and most accomplished album, Sister Faith (due April 30 on Temporary Residence Ltd.), Louisville’s Coliseum will embark on a thorough run of dates across the eastern half of North America, their first tour in nearly two years. Sister Faith‘s potent amalgamation of the unchecked energy of punk, the anthemic melodies of post-hardcore, and the caustic sonic textures of noise-rock practically beg to be enjoyed as a visceral experience in the confines of a sweaty rock club. Following a run of headlining dates the trio will join genre-defying quartet Baroness as support on the Georgia band’s first run of dates since their derailing bus accident in the UK last year.
Coliseum‘s Ryan Patterson adds, “We’re looking forward to powering up the amps and bringing the new material from Sister Faith to life live and loud, as well as reanimating some older tunes we haven’t played in many years. We’re very happy to have some excellent bands opening for us along the way; from California X, one of our favorite new bands, to Red Hare, the new Dischord Records band featuring 3/4 of the legendary Swiz,including guitarist Jason Farrell (also of Bluetip and Retisonic) who guests on Sister Faith. It’s also humbling to be joining our good friends in Baroness on their first tour back after their harrowing brush with mortality. Our history together spans the last decade (beginning when they played Coliseum‘s first show in a Louisville rental hall in 2004) and we consider them among our closest allies in this journey.”
