Godflesh is a classic, ballsy, catchy, mean, ambient, and influential industrial-metal band that’s been kicking since 1982. Godflesh‘s last full studio release, Hymns, which was originally released in 2001, is about to get an upgrade and reissue via The End Records on February 19, 2013. Led by Justin Broadrick (the band’s frontman, and ex member of Napalm Death and current member of Jesu), the band has managed to craft a corpus of material with catchy riffs and choruses without losing a drop of originality or poignancy.
Often and arguably called their finest album, Hymns is now being re-issued by The End Records as a Special Edition 2CD Deluxe Remaster with Bonus Tracks, Liner Notes, Lyrics and Never Before Seen Photos and Images.
The band commented on the album via Godflesh.com stating, “Finally, it seems we’ll finally get that Hymns re-issue early next year. Godflesh’s last LP will get the remaster treatment and will also feature the six demo tracks remixed as well as the track If I Could Only Be What You Want. This track was only available on the Loud Music For Loud People compilation and in looking through the site, I guess I never put that in the discographies. Bad. 🙁 However, now you can get it along with this ultimate Hymns package! Oh, this also means I’ll have to take down those Demo FLAC files once this become available. If you’re interested in getting those (not remixed) demo tracks, grab them soon. ”
