Chart-topping Welsh rockers Lostprophets are currently rocking mainstage audiences on the Vans Warped Tour but when the trek winds down on August 5th they’ll immediately begin gearing up for a week-long west coast headline club tour that kicks off August 7th. Joining them on the tour as direct support is L.A. teen rock outfit, Cherri Bomb (Hollywood Records).
Lostprophets’ latest LP, Weapons was released in the U.S. on Fearless Records this past June to widespread acclaim. Weapons marks the band’s first North American release since Liberation Transmission (2006) and was recorded in North Hollywood, CA at NRG Studios with producer Ken Andrews (A Perfect Circle, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club).
Formed in Pontypridd, South Wales, the Welsh rock band have made their mark on both sides of the Atlantic with their blend of strong melodic choruses and aggressively edged rock. Through four previous albums – 2000’s fakesoundofprogress, 2004’s Start Something, 2006’s Liberation Transmission, and 2010’s The Betrayed – the band has grown, both in songwriting and success, stacking up a dozen or so top 40 singles and selling over 3 million albums worldwide. Recipients of Kerrang! Magazine‘s 2010’s ‘Classic Songwriters Award’, Lostprophets have become one of the U.K.’s biggest rock bands, gracing countless magazine covers and headlining stages at Reading/Leeds and Download Festivals.
Lostprophets is Ian Watkins (lad vocals), Lee Gaze (lead guitar), Mike Lewis (rhythm guitar), Stuart Richardson (bass), Jamie Oliver (synth, turntables, samples, backing vocals) and Luke Johnson (drums).
LA’s Cherri Bomb, were dubbed a “Band You Need To Know” by Alternative Press and they hit #1 on Billboard’s “Next Big Sound” chart. They are one of the youngest bands to ever take the stage at some of the biggest festivals in the world including Reading and Leeds in the U.K., Soundwave in Australia and the Vans Warped Tour in the U.S. Cherri Bomb has shared stages (and received glowing endorsements) from bands such as the Foo Fighters and Smashing Pumpkins and they are currently featured on Avengers Assemble, the Marvel Music/Hollywood Records companion album to the blockbuster film “The Avengers.” The band’s major label debut, This Is The End of Control is out now on Hollywood Records.
Cherri Bomb is Julia Pierce (vocals/guitar), Nia Lovelis (drums/vocals), Miranda Miller (guitar/keyboards/ vocals), and Rena Lovelis (bass/vocals).
