Baltimore’s political d-beat purveyors, Old Lines are currently tracking a new EP with engineer/producer Kevin Bernstein (Full Of Hell, ILSA, Mutilation Rites) at his Developing Nations studio. The as-of-yet unnamed EP follows Old Lines‘ previous efforts that include a 2013 EP, If You See Something, Say Something, on Reptilian Records and 2014’s No Sleep Records debut, No Child Left Behind, which were also recorded with Bernsten. For this current go-around, Old Lines have rotated in a new bassist, Calvin Joiner, who joins longtime members including singer Matt Taylor, drummer Jake Berry, and guitarist Mitch Roemer (ex-Pulling Teeth). Apart from this latest member shift, Old Lines are also employing the help of environmental activists to contribute towards the new effort’s overarching political messages. Old Lines have long focused on such political issues as inequality, gender, and race relations with this latest effort taking an aim at current environmental issues.
Label details are expected to emerge in the near future as the record heads to Brad Boatright (Nails, Baptists, Die Choking) of Audiosiege for mastering efforts. Old Lines will be making continued studio updates from the band’s Instagram and Facebook accounts.
Old Lines is scheduled to take part in this year’s Maryland Deathfest annual takeover of Baltimore as the band will play May 21st during the Sidebar side-event with Silence, Bombs, and Humanmania.
