Birds of Avalon‘s forthcoming self-titled release is another analog-only collaboration with Mitch Easter (REM, Wilco, Pavement) at his Fidelitorium Studio. Its coming out on on CD/Digital via Bladen County Records (the Love Language, Moneybrother, Builders and the Butchers) and on Vinyl w/ download card via Gigantic Music (the Walkmen, Harlem Shakes, Your Youth). The record builds on the pop-aesthetic of Bazaar Bazaar but blazes new progressive trails while anticipating the psychedelic experimentation of Uncanny Valley. Birds of Avalon have spent the 4 years of their existence on the road with The Racontuers, The Flaming Lips, Black Mountain, The Fucking Champs, Mudhoney, Monotonix, and Ted Leo and more. They are a band’s-band, no doubt. Flaming Lips Kliph Scurlock got an early listen to the album and hyped it on a Spinner interview last year.
