Death Metal Tuesdays: Horror

Horror demo 1993

The 1993 demo by Minneapolis MN band Horror was, unfortunately, their only release. This was one of the first death metal bands I had seen who possessed an evenly distributed triple-vocal attack. They were truly leveling live and took what Bill and Jeff from Carcass gave us into a far more intimidating direction. Gnarly, oddly timed, and deeply dark stuff for fans of Mortician (but actually GOOD live) and of course early Carcass. I ran into a friend of the band recently who informed my of their bass player/vocalist James Leader’s death in 2012 and told me that their was unreleased material yet to see the darkness of the this world. If this demo is any indication, this makes me a truly happy man.
