D.O.A. to Rock Canada in Sept and Oct
D.O.A. are among the forefathers of hardcore punk with the likes of Black Flag, Bad Brains, and Minor Threat, having formed in Vancouver, Canada during the tail-end of the 70′s.
Just how critical was their roll to the development of the modern punk scene?
Swallow this; D.O.A. are accredited with having been the first to actually reference the punk sound of the early 80′s as hardcore with the release of their second full-length Hardcore 81. I was able to catch DOA a few weeks ago in Philly as they played this legendary release from front to back and I can vouch that these guys are still alive and kickin’ after 30-plus years of living the punk movement. “Idealist,” “anarchist,”and “uncompromising” are just a few terms that come to mind when I think of D.O.A as the band’s slogan stands firm with “Talk Minus Action = Zero.”
Punk fans throughout Canada can expect a visit from this legendary three-piece as they embark on a full Canadian tour run kicking off Sept. 15 in Innisfail and wrapping on Oct 15 in Winnipeg.
