Vans Warped Tour 2012 made its usual "Philadelphia" stop at Camden, NJ's Susquehanna Bank Center with over 100 bands spanning countless scores of genres and sub genres of popular music. Skateboarders, vendors, and all of the usual extra-curricular activities fans have come to expect over the past 18 years were laid out in smorgasbord fashion. Hard to believe the Vans Warped Tour is now older than a significant portion of its fan-base.
Per usual, you have to plan your Warped Tour day accordingly, as the 9 stages overlap ...

Southern California's Grammy-nominated metal quintet, As I lay Dying ripped through Philadelphia's Trocadero last Thursday in support of their most recent LP, Decas, which hit streets on November 8th via longtime label Metalblade in celebration of the band's 10th anniversary.
Decas features three new studio tracks, covers of groups that influenced the band, and remixes by INNERPARTYSYSTEM (Katy Perry, Ladyhawke, Thursday, Good Charlotte and many others), Benjamin Weinman (The Dillinger Escape Plan), Kelly “Carnage” Cairns (Austrian Death Machine, War of Ages), and Big Chocolate (Asking Alexandria, iwrestledabearonce, Suicide Silence).

Harder and faster. Louder and ruder. Pushing the limits of taste and being more extreme than the next guy have been a recurrent theme in metal since the 80’s. A constant pissing contest amongst Heavy Metal bands to see who was heavier than the next. This sometimes resulted in astonishing achievements like Slayer’s Reign in Blood, but also gave way to interesting bands such as Faith No More who would bend anything and everything while challenging the stereotypical “metal” sound.
