California gore lords Exhumed will return to the road this February alongside grind behemoths Phobia. The short West Coast beat down will commence February 15 in Lancaster, California and conclude February 23 in San Francisco. Souls will be severed; dreams will die.
The latest stretch of dates follows Exhumed ’s maniacal run with Napalm Death and Municipal Waste at the end of the year which was met with a host of hurdles including being denied entry into Canada and vehicular failure that left them temporarily stranded in Alabama. Comments vocalist/guitarist Matt Harvey:
As happy as we were to get home for the holidays, we thought we should ...

Grindcore mainstays, Phobia, ripped through Philly’s Millcreek Tavern last week with a solid dose of local talent that included No Stayer, Backslider, and Infernal Stronghold. Though slightly road worn from vast jumps around the country in the days leading up to this performance, the members of Phobia were in high spirits and sat for ...

Murder Construct
Self-Titled EP
Relapse Records
Available Now
FFO: Exhumed, Terrorizer, Phobia
Avid fans of grind and death metal often bemoan the fact that most ‘new’ bands have lost the ferocity and integrity of the ‘old-school’ 80s and 90s-era extreme music via albums like Brutal Truth’s Need to Control (1994) and Napalm Death’s From Enslavement to Obliteration (1988).

Phobia have long reigned as a patriarch of the American grind scene with over 20 years of proliferation that began with 7" releases at Relapse Records when the now indie-Goliath was still in its infancy and functioning out of a basement. This was before the term "grind" or "grindcore" was commonplace among extreme music aficionados. And although the band would release their first 7" in 1991, the turbulence of day-to-day life resulting in members changes and financial instability would see the band hold off on their first full-length until 1997.
