Neurot Recordings (label imprint by members of renowned post-metal group Neurosis) is set to release the debut from Arkansas southern rock collective Iron Tongue. Fronted by Chris "CT" Terry, the founding frontman of sludge legion Rwake, Iron Tongue formed when a group of veteran players with diverse musical backgrounds found a common interest in the need to get down and dirty and way, way gone.
Churning a soulful blend of girthy, heavily amped, blues-based rock, Iron Tongue aren’t singing of magical moonlit escapades. The band offer up songs of pain, regret and heartache that recall everything from the proto-metal stomp of ...

The next round of live performances from the mighty Neurosis draws near, as the outfit prepares to invade the Northeast for shows in Brooklyn and Philadelphia next week.
Next Saturday, January 19th Neurosis will return to the historic Masonic Temple in Brooklyn, the venue they nearly tore to the ground when they last played in New York with a pair of shows in early 2008 with openers Mastodon. On this trek the opening support for Neurosis will be provided by the scathing drum/guitar attack of ex-Khanate/Khlyst duo James Plotkin and Tim Wyskida on their new experimental venture in auditory torture.

This gallery marks a first for Blow The Scene, as we recently sent our Senior Staff Photographer, Dante Torrieri, on a Southern journey out of the frigid cold of Philadelphia, and into Atlanta, where he had the pleasure of catching the mighty Neurosis perform with U.S. Christmas, Primate, and Rwake, at the incredible Masquerade Theater. Neurosis’s impact on current metal mainstays was none more evident than by the musicians sprinkled throughout the audience, with members of Mastodon, Kylesa, Hull, Black Tusk, and Royal Thunder all made it ...

It is said that great art has the power to take us outside of ourselves and bring us closer to ourselves simultaneously. Few bands have accomplished this rare feat on a more profound and consistent basis than Neurosis. For nearly three decades, their music has touched the hearts and minds of young men and women seeking contact with something beyond the physical world, something intangible, something that expresses the inner tumult of the human condition in a way that transcends time and space. Something that not only provokes questions but maybe even hints at answers.
Since 1985 this matchless force has surpassed ...
