Riot Fest East conquered Philly this past Saturday with a line-up that bridged the divide between old and young fans of punk rock. And to my suprise, the old heads probably out-numbered the youngins, which made for an eclectic mix of music lovers. The day was filled with legendary bands giving amazing performances for almost 12 hours, non-stop. Touting themselves as the real punk rock tour of the summer, while bad mouthing the corporate bullshit that now goes along with the Warped Tour, you knew you were in for a fun night. Laugh it off! started the night out with a fun up tempo quirkiness reminiscent of early Descendents, not bad for only their third gig. The Holy Mess was up next confessing that it was much to early for them to play, because they had no time to drink first. Lots of energy out of this local Philly band and it shows in the pictures.
