Melodic hardcore mainstays, Shai Hulud, rolled through The Barbary last Saturday and were joined by an eclectic mix of bands that consisted of Gods & Queens, Devotion, Give, and Code Orange Kids, hosted by Philly Hardcore Shows.
Shai Hulud, who have released 3 LPs and numerous splits on various labels, continue to support their latest full-length effort, Misanthropy Pure, on Metal Blade Records. Philly’s own indie punk rockers Gods and Queens co-headlined the bill with an impassioned performance. We recently ran a spotlight interview with singer/frontman Jamie Getz, where you can get all the inside info on the band. Devotion, which is the latest musical project from Mark Palm, the creative mind behind Go It Alone, who supplied their dark, gloomy hardcore tones for an enthusiastic crowd, as the band is also continuing to support their latest LP, Bastard Son Of Affluence Blues, released in 2009 on Rivalry Records. Washington DC’s Give and Pittsburgh’s Code Orange Kids rounded out the bill.
